This citation is incorrect because it doesn't mention the author's name, only the page number. Hint: The author's name is mentioned at the beginning of the sentence. Richard Smith writes that a popular keystroke logging program operates invisibly on workers’ computers yet provides supervisors with details of the workers’ online activities (187).

Common knowledge and personal research findings or personal discoveries must always be cited.

Only B is an example of an in-text citation. A) We see so many global warming hotspots in North America likely because this region has "more readily accessible climatic data and more comprehensive programs to monitor and study environmental change . . ." ("Impact of Global Warming"). Hint: Is there an author or just the title of the source that's being cited? Using the words and ideas of others without recognizing and stating where they came from is considered a sign of deep respect.
